It was a beautiful
day today – sunny and warm – so after a late breakfast (and after
I had taken loads of pictures of the fog in the valley), we went for
a longer walk along the hiking trail behind the village. We saw a few
lizards, a deer and lots of evidence that wild boar had been through
recently – the ground had been torn up and there were tracks all
over the place.
The trails aren't
just used by boar and hikers – at one point I heard a noise ahead
that sounded like a huge herd of deer stampeding and ran ahead to see
if I could see them... only to be confronted by a mountain-biker in
full regalia hurtling down the track towards me – an experience
that was repeated a couple of times during the walk.
