Big sighs of relief all round today
as we got news that our passports were on their way back to us, replete with
our Chinese visas. Dominic and Ryan also finished the painting and decorating,
so we have our house back. And we had a plumber and a Saniflow repair man in to
deal with our various leak issues. So, a pretty good day, all considered.
Sadly, however, it ended with an email from the people due to host us in
Mongolia. Their planned itinerary, which includes a mixture of press trip and ‘family
adventure’, would gobble up about a quarter of our savings, so it’s back to the
drawing board there.
Yesterday, our packing materials
arrived, so tomorrow I can now get down to the serious business of boxing up
our UK life – after I’ve dealt with the serious business of dismantling our double
bed and the girls’ bunks, ready for their new lives in someone else’s homes.
